Connect Community of Practice follow-up

Meeting date May 27, 2025

This month's CII/CPAR Connect meeting reviewed recent milestones, EMR updates and upcoming learning opportunities. Read on to see how your efforts are helping shape better continuity of care.

CII/CPAR Milestones

  • 89% of family physicians are live
  • 2.9 million patients are on a CPAR panel
  • 975 clinics are live
  • Nearly 50,000 conflicts were resolved last month
  • May's conflict rate is at 11.1% - down from 11.9% the previous month!

These numbers reflect the growing adoption and impact of CII/CPAR across Alberta. Thank you to all participating clinics and providers for contributing to this success!

EMR and eHealth Updates:

Juno Conformance Update

Juno is making good progress towards conformance. The initial rollout will begin with automatic panel uploads. Encounters and consults to follow at a later stage.
eHealth is aware of clinics that are interested in participating in a limited production rollout once the EMR is ready. Stay tuned for more updates as they move closer to launch.

CHR Encounters Not Yet Live

Telus CHR continues to work on resolving issues that are preventing clinical encounters from flowing into Netcare. While progress is being made, the feature has not yet gone live.
Site Liaisons will be notified as soon as encounters are ready to launch.

Allied Health Onboarding to CII Remains on Hold

Onboarding allied health professionals to CII is currently paused due to technical issues preventing CII from uniquely identifying these users. eHealth continues to work on solutions, and we will share updates as they become available.

Update on eNotifications

We’re happy to report that concerns about duplicate eNotifications have largely been resolved—likely due to Connect Care sending fewer duplicate summative notes.
Additionally, some providers have expressed a preference for receiving eNotifications through CII. Given the reduced impact of this issue, eHealth has decided to pause any planned changes to eNotifications indefinitely.  AMA and eHealth will revisit this issue as needed, as reducing admin burden is still a priority.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support!

A Panel Admin for Every CPAR Panel

Having a designated Panel Administrator (PA) for each CPAR panel is essential for effective panel management. We’re pleased to share that eHealth has successfully reduced the number of panels without a PA from 140 to just four.
If one of these panels is affiliated with your PCN or clinic, our team may have reached out to offer support in assigning a PA. Thank you for your continued collaboration in keeping these critical CPAR assignments up to date!

ACTT Updates:

PPIP Webinar – Closing the Loop: Sharing Consults to Netcare for Seamless Continuity

Please help us spread the word! Physicians or their delegates can attend this PPIP session to learn how CII works and how it qualifies as a PPIP activity.
Clinics and providers who create consult reports outside of AHS facilities are encouraged to sign up for CII. This enables them to send consults directly to Netcare, enhancing continuity of care.
Date: June 10
Time: 6:00 p.m.
