Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL), Edmonton Hub Lab: phone changes for Central, Edmonton and North zones
Starting Monday, May 13, the APL Edmonton Hub Lab will transition to a new phone system. This migration will result in a significant change for callers as all previous DynaLIFE four-digit extensions will be replaced with either a new 10-digit number or require callers to be transferred by the switchboard.

This change will only impact the four-digit extensions and will not affect any of the existing main numbers used to dial into Edmonton Hub Lab. The following numbers to reach Edmonton Hub Lab remain unchanged: Direct, 780-451-3702, Toll Free: 1-877-868-6848, for the Red Deer community or north.

Measles reminder
AHS.ca/measles offers background on the measles virus, immunization, recommendations and an FAQ for Albertans.

Key Precautions for Healthcare Workers:
Confirm your immunity: Measles is extremely contagious. It is strongly recommended that staff who are involved in direct patient care ensure they are immune to measles. Guidance regarding how you can check your immunity status is provided in the FAQ
You are considered immune or protected against measles if you have:
  • Documentation of having received two doses of measles-containing vaccine (for example, MMR) OR
  • A documented laboratory-confirmed measles infection OR
  • A blood test showing proof of immunity.
Be aware of measles symptoms. These include a fever of 38.3° C or higher; a cough, runny nose or red eyes; and a red blotchy rash appearing three to seven days after fever starts, usually beginning behind the ears and on the face and spreading down to the body and then to the arms and legs.
If you are experiencing symptoms of measles, do not come to work. You should stay home, avoid contact with others, and call Health Link at 811 before visiting any health care facility or provider.
