Connect meeting follow up

Celebration Moment - Milestones

  • An estimated 25% of community-based non-family medicine specialists are now participating in CII/CPAR, with representation from 42 different specialties
  • Over the last month alone, over 1,000,000 Encounters and over 75,000 Consult Reports were submitted to Netcare via CII/CPAR

Non-Family Medicine Specialists - CII/CPAR Updates

  • A web-form (online) version of the CoP for Specialists is already being used to onboard non-family medicine specialists, and a primary care version is in development
  • If PCNs want to help onboard non-family medicine specialists that work in PCN-affiliated clinics, the “CII/CPAR for Specialists (non-family medicine)” curriculum is available on Learn@AMA, and takes less than 30 minutes to complete
  • Alternately, reach out to the ciicpar@albertadoctors.org inbox to have ACTT assist any interested specialists with the onboarding process
  • CII/CPAR currently allows specialists to submit Consult Reports only to the Consultations folder in Netcare; the ability to categorize Operative Reports and Pulmonary Function Diagnostics (PFDs) into their respective Netcare folders is in development
  • Pediatrics has been identified as a high priority specialty; please contact ciicpar@albertadoctors.org if you have any leads on pediatric clinics that might want to participate

CII/CPAR Connect  - Please Register for 2024 Dates

  • The following dates for future CII/CPAR Connect meetings have been booked:
    • January 23
    • February 27
    • March 19
    • April 16
    • May 28
    • June 18
  • Even if you are already registered for the Connect webinar series, you will need to register for these new dates

EMR Updates

  • AVA and CHR are still in the final testing stages, with data only flowing to a test environment, not to the live Netcare environment

Q&A Highlights

  • For the purposes of the Acceleration Grant “Panel and Encounters” second payment, it does not matter if the Panel Administrator has accessed the CPAR reports, only that a Panel Administrator has been assigned; of course, it is still highly recommended that these reports be reviewed as they are foundational to good panel management
  • Specialists that are eligible for CII/CPAR (i.e., working in non-Connect Care clinics, on a conformed EMR) are also eligible for Acceleration Grant payments
  • Conflicts are not generated for physicians that are not signed up for Panels; this includes most non-family medicine specialists, most of whom only submit Consult Reports
  • If a patient is on the demographic mismatch report, no information will flow to Netcare or CPAR; this is why resolving demographic mismatches is the suggested first step in managing CPAR panel reports

What is CII/CPAR Connect?

CII/CPAR Connect is a regular meeting for anyone needing support with CII/CPAR and aims to support those implementing CII/CPAR by creating a forum to connect and ask questions.

Meetings run monthly, typically on the third Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. You can choose to attend any one meeting or all of them.

See the dates and register below. You can also view slides from previous meetings in the CII/CPAR Resources Centre.
