Welcome! Dr. Kimberley Kelly joins AMA Senior Management Team
The Alberta Medical Association is pleased to announce that Kimberley Kelly MD, CCFP(AM), FCFP, has been appointed Assistant Executive Director, Professional Affairs.
Dr. Kelly brings extensive experience and knowledge to this role with over 26 years as a physician and over 10 years experience in leadership roles. She also has a wealth of AMA experience including serving as a board member from 2015 to 2019, participating on multiple committees, being a physician ambassador for AMA’s Youth Run Club and contributing to AMA’s Healthy Working Environments framework.
Dr. Kelly has led numerous initiatives to improve the experiences of physicians and patients across Alberta. In 2019, she won the Inspiring Woman Physician award from the Canadian Women in Medicine organization for her advocacy work.
In her role as AED, Professional Affairs, Dr. Kelly will provide overall leadership and responsibility for the Professional Affairs Branch including oversight of the Physician and Family Support Program, funded by Alberta Health. She will collaborate with stakeholders to influence priorities and advocate for the interests of members, and to ensure that all initiatives support the patient/physician relationship and the ethical and professional duties and obligations that physicians have to their patients.
