New provincial non-gynecological cytopathology requisition
A new provincial non-gynecological cytopathology requisition #22204 (2024-11) has been developed and is now available. All legacy/zone requisitions should be discarded and replaced with the new provincial form.

Reminder to review referral pathways: Multi-specialty FAST launched December 2
FAST is a provincial central access and intake program.

On December 2, FAST will expand to four new surgical specialties, including plastic surgery, neurosurgery, otolaryngology and oral maxillofacial surgery. These new specialties will join general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic surgery, urology and vascular surgery.

As this launch looks different in each zone, please review the referral instructions at AHS.ca/FAST* and the referral pathways found on Alberta’s Pathway Hub to prepare for this launch.

Canada Post strike impact on AHS diagnostic imaging appointments
Due to the Canada Post strike, AHS Diagnostic Imaging is unable to mail appointment information for those waiting for CT, MRI and PET scans.

Please encourage patients to sign up for myahsconnect.albertahealthservices.ca where they can check their appointment status and find out how to prepare for their upcoming exams.

Patients will continue to receive telephone calls for appointments booked within two weeks of their referral, and all patients will continue to receive reminder calls a few days in advance of their appointment. Community physicians will continue to receive faxes with appointment information for patients.
