  • 2815 CPAR providers live
  • 2.9 million patients on a CPAR Panel

  • NEW! 2 million consult reports sent to Netcare
  • $7.7 million Acceleration Grant funding distributed

Just published! Shared CPAR Panel Resource

Shared care practices involve two or more providers collaboratively managing the care of a single panel of patients. This recently published resource offers a review of the administrative, financial and clinical considerations for providers contemplating the option of sharing a CPAR panel.

Updated! PCPCM Panel Size Calculation Resource

The PCPCM Panel Size Calculation resource now uses the new CPAR Panel Submission Metrics report. We encourage you to use this new report to determine CPAR panel size instead of the panel submission details page in the CPAR portal. This new metrics report is now available alongside the Demographic Mismatch and Conflict reports.

*Note you will still need to refer to the uploads tab to identify and correct attachment errors for specific patients.

PCPCM panel size update timeline refreshed

We have reviewed the PCPCM Panels example timeline to incorporate new information:

  • EMR scheduled panel uploads to CPAR: Between the 2nd and 12th of each month
  • Panel submission details and Demographic mismatch reports: Available two days later
  • Panel resubmission: Trigger by the 20th of the month, if necessary
  • Panel Submission Metrics and Conflict reports: Available on the 24th of the month
  • PCPCM panel size update in AMA Member Dashboard: Provided by Alberta Health every 1-2 months*

*Alberta Health (AH) provides PCPCM panel sizes, which are then integrated into the AMA Member Dashboard, enabling providers to express interest in the new funding model. Since the model's launch on April 1, changes in the timing of PCPCM panel data have affected providers who uploaded their panels for the first time in March. Their panel numbers have not yet been reflected in the dashboard, preventing them from expressing interest. We do not have confirmation from AH about when the next PCPCM panel update will be provided.

NEW: PCPCM Community of Practice (CoP)

The first session is scheduled for May 7 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Participants can expect more peer-to-peer engagement time through breakout rooms. Physician-led content will be offered twice a week, providing more opportunities to participate. Live Q&A time with the AMA-ACTT team and physician leaders be available during these sessions. Session dates and times will vary. Register to attend.

Q&A recap

How are physicians and teams supposed to deal with unresolved conflicts where the conflicting clinic is not removing attached patients?

Currently, there is no mechanism to compel another clinic to de-panel a patient. A conflict working group is meeting to determine how conflicts will be managed after April 1, 2026. The group is exploring various options. In some cases, this issue arises because a clinic lacks an effective process or understanding of how to de-panel a patient in their EMR. You may consider reaching out to the clinic or its PCN (if different from your own) to see if this may be the issue.
