Denominator Clean-up

The CII/CPAR team sent out denominator clean-up spreadsheets by email to PCN contacts. This denominator clean-up will allow us to get a good picture of eligible physicians who are a part of your PCN. Once the data is collected from each PCN it will be applied to the CII/CPAR dashboard. The lists that were provided only included physicians who were noted to be “not participating”, while the “live” and “in-progress” physicians were not included in the list. Physicians who are practicing as non-Family Medicine Specialists can be marked as ineligible, but please offer them CII for consults and/or encounters! Oscar and Juno clinics should be marked as eligible as conformance work is currently being done. If you note errors to clinic or physician names, or a change of PCN, please send the correct information by email to eHealthProviderSupport@gov.ab.ca as they are able to make these updates and changes.

There was an error noted in the spreadsheet, please take note: If a clinic name is wrong, update in column G, not column D as the dropdown menu suggests.

Happening Next Week! PCCM Panel Prep Webinar Series

Physicians and teams are invited to join AMA-ACTT for Part 3 of this webinar series and learn what practical steps can be taken to improve the accuracy of their AH panel size estimates.

Improving panel size accuracy may increase physicians’ future PMSP payments, which are recalculated and paid out quarterly. Ensuring panel sizes are accurate may also improve payments under future compensation models or funding initiatives. Register for Part 3 today, and please distribute the registration link and details to family physicians and their teams that you support.

This will be a 3-part webinar series for family physicians and rural generalists and their teams:

  • Part 1. How panel sizes are calculated for PMSP (and potentially other compensation), what CII/CPAR is and how it can improve your panel size estimate, assigning CII/CPAR roles & responsibilities and how to get started today. Watch the video here!
  • Part 2. How to compare your EMR panel vs CPAR panel, and how to find and fix any discrepancies. Includes helpful tips and resources for each EMR. Watch the video here!
  • Part 3. Understand what CPAR Conflicts and Demographic Mismatches are, how they impact panel size estimates and how your team can address them. Dates still to be determined.

EMR Updates

CHR encounters may start flowing to Netcare soon. Consults are now flowing from CHR to Netcare for clinics who have onboarded to CII for consults only.  Now is a great time to refresh clinics on key resources like the data map for encounters, and how to prevent an encounter from being generated in CHR. Clinics will receive notification when they are set to go-live. Reminder that historical entries will not upload to the CED, only items that are newly added or updated during an encounter will be included in the CED.

Oscar and Juno are actively working on conformance; stay tuned!

Electronic Confirmation of Participation (eCoP)

The eCOP has been relaunched on our website! The ACTT team would like to thank those who helped in testing this form. We were able to take your feedback and implement some additional changes that were suggested. When starting a new form, you will enter the clinic name on the contact information page, which will be included in the autogenerated link that you will receive in your inbox. You will also now receive email confirmation upon submission of the form. A new data type “Other” has been recently added which will be used for clinics who are onboarding to send Pulmonary Function Diagnostic reports to Netcare. In future, the “Other” field may also be used to participate in patient summaries, operative reports, etc.

You can use this link to access the eCoP.

Q&A recap

  1. Are there any updates on multidisciplinary team members being able to join CII/CPAR to submit encounters? No new updates, eHealth is closer to being able to use alternative identifiers (i.e. college registration numbers) which would allow allied health to sign up properly. eHealth has said they will revisit this next year.
  2. Will a patient be included in CPAR panel if they have only ever had a telephone or virtual visit? Patients can have either in-person or virtual (telephone) appointments, there just needs to be a record of a completed visit on the chart to be included in the CPAR panel.
  3. Is the Acceleration funding still available for physicians onboarding? Yes, there is still $5M available, so take advantage while there is still time!
  4. What is the timeline for Encounters going live on CHR? There is no exact date at this time. Final testing is supposed to wrap up by the end of this week. There is a possibility that CHR will go into “general production roll out” as early as next month!

Next meeting is December 10, 2024.
