Terminating Panels - Process Change Coming Soon

Alberta Health will soon announce a more streamlined process for terminating CPAR panels. The current process requires 3 forms to be submitted: the Panel Request Form to terminate the panel, and a Panel Admin (PA) and Access Admin (AA) form to remove those authorizations. In the near future, submitting the Panel Request Form to terminate the panel will automatically remove the AA and PA authorizations.  Stay tuned for an announcement from AH and AMA-ACTT about when this process change (and updated forms) will take effect.

Transitional Funding Program

The Transitional Funding Program (TPF) is funded by Alberta Health and provides eligible physicians a one-time payment for financial support, to transition practices to a permanent funding model. This program uses the same 5-cut method to estimate panel sizes as the Panel Management Support Program, with CPAR being the first cut. More information about this program can be found at:

Ask Us Anything Summary

Q: Are there resources to help clinics resolve conflicts?

  • A: The “Go-Live and Beyond” curriculum on Learn@AMA provides a general approach to resolving conflicts. If the clinic you are trying to work with does not understand how to resolve conflicts in their EMR, then you might use ACTT’s EMR-specific “how panels work” articles in our Resource Centre.

Q: Is there any update on when redundant eNotifications will be shut off?

  • A: There is no firm timeline on this yet. Discussions are ongoing, and AH is still gathering feedback on what eNotifications are actually redundant and can safely be shut off. Stay tuned for updates.

Q: Will CPAR forms (Panel Request, AA Request, PA Request) be available as e-Forms, perhaps on IAM?

  • A: Electronic or web-based versions of CPAR forms are not currently in development. There is an electronic Confirmation of Participation form that was created by ACTT, and that form will be reviewed by AH soon. Stay tuned for the launch of that form.
