Connect Care conversation with Alberta physicians

AHS and the AMA are inviting physicians from across Alberta to join a conversation about Connect Care on Tuesday, September 19, 5 - 6 p.m.

This virtual session will provide an opportunity to discuss the findings of the two Connect Care physician/clinician satisfaction surveys sent out in February and March 2023 - one from the AMA Specialty Care Alliance and the other from AHS - and to hear your thoughts on the actions that are being taken to address your feedback. Our shared goal is to understand what is working and what to prioritize for improvement in the Connect Care clinical information system.

If you have any questions in advance of the conversation, please email community.engagement@ahs.ca.

Register for the town hall

Do you have an up-to-date Privacy Impact Assessment? Time-limited offer!

To participate in CII/CPAR (Community Information Integration & Central Patient Attachment Registry) and qualify for the CII/CPAR Acceleration Grant, a community-based clinic must have an up-to-date Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) that reflects the clinic’s current EMR and privacy policies.

A limited-time-offer on reduced rates for PIAs expires on September 30, 2023. It is an ideal time to submit your CII/CPAR Confirmation of Participation form to eHealth and, if required, update your clinic PIA, at a discounted rate.

Application to Category 1 Programs on CaRMS is now open. If you're interested in Category 2 Programs, applications open August 14. Learn more about the application process to the U of C’s eight ES Programs.

For the second straight month, the Bank of Canada has increased its target for the overnight rate by 0.25%, bringing it to 5.0%. The bank cites the resilience of economic growth, excess demand and higher core inflation as reasons to restrict policy further.

Community Connections

This month, the following is available for your consideration:

Level 2 Advanced Caregiver-Centered Care Education – all six domain modules now online!

Family caregivers are the backbone of health care, but they are stressed and need support. The health care system must actively engage and support family caregivers to maintain their well being and sustain care.

Level 2 Advanced is comprised of six short courses that make up the Caregiver Centered Care Competency Framework. Level 2 equips the health and social care workforce to recognize, partner with and support family caregivers. All modules can be accessed for free online, and each comes with a continuing competency certificate.
